 Welcome to Stewart County, Tennessee
 

The Stewart County Emergency Communications District is responsible for providing emergency Enhanced 911 (E911) service to the citizens and visitors in our county.  The ECD is governed by a committee appointed by the Stewart County Mayor.  The Committee is comprised of nine members one of which is the Chairman of the Committee.  Our chairman is Mr. Steve Douglass.

 

The E911 Committee meets quarterly on the third Thursday of each month following the calendar quarter.  The meetings are on the third Thursday of January, April, July, and October.  Meetings are held at 625 Donelson Parkway in the Dover Town Hall at 6:00PM.  The meetings are open to the public.

 
Mission

 

We are the link between “served agencies” and citizens in need of an emergency response.

 

The mission of the ECD is to provide:

            A.  Emergency Communications to the served emergency response agencies of

                  Stewart County, including:

                        1.  The Stewart County Emergency Medical Service

                        2.  Dover Police Department

                        3.  Cumberland City Police Department

                        4.  Stewart County Sheriff’s Department

                        5.  Stewart County Volunteer Fire Service

                        6.  Stewart County Rescue Squad

            B.  We also aid and assist in communications with other agencies such as:

                        1.  The Tennessee Highway Patrol

                        2.  Tennessee Valley Authority

                        3.  All surrounding counties

                        4.  Any emergency vehicle passing through Stewart County from any

                             agency.

                        5.  The U.S. Forest Service
             C.  We are responsible for the addressing of all buildings and the naming of all

                  roads in Stewart County.  We maintain the database containing all addresses

                  and roads.
