Welcome to Stewart County, Tennessee
The Stewart County Emergency Communications District is responsible for providing emergency Enhanced 911 (E911) service to the citizens and visitors in our county. We also are responsible to provide and maintain a map of the residences and businesses in Stewart County so that emergency responders can find their call for service destination easier. The ECD is governed by a committee appointed by the Stewart County Mayor. The Committee is comprised of nine members one of which is the Chairman of the Committee. Our chairman is Mr. Steve Douglass.
The E911 Committee meets monthly on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at 625 Donelson Parkway in the Dover Town Hall at 6:00PM. The meetings are open to the public.
We are the link between “served agencies” and citizens in need of an emergency response.
The mission of the ECD is to provide:
A. Emergency Communications to the served emergency response agencies of Stewart County.
B. We are also responsible for the naming of all roads in Stewart County both public and private. We maintain an electronic mapping system to make it easier for responders to find their call for service destination.
